1:12 PM (9 hours ago)This day in historyfrom feed/ by Old RebelIn 1861, Missouri Governor Claiborne Fox Jackson signed the Missouri Ordinance of Secession, passed the previous day by a quorum of the State Legislature in Neosho, Missouri.

Missouri’s capital, Jefferson City, was already occupied by Federal forces.
